Finally/En Fin

After 5 weeks in Aix I have finally decided to start a blog. To briefly summarize: Aix is amazing. I’ve adjusted pretty well, even though I definitely experienced some culture shock my first few days here. I have kissed a lot of people I don’t know (and by kiss I mean giving “bisous,” the double cheek greeting). I found it to be slightly perplexing at first, and I still occasionally forget and go in for a hand shake instead. People talk very very fast and don’t stop for air. There is always an “eh” linking words, and I often wonder when they find time to breathe. But little by little, it’s becoming easier to communicate.
Today was the last day of school before the vacance, and the profs knew it because I had three tests. I survived though, and as a treat after class some friends and I went to “crepe a go go” for a gouter (a snack at about 4 or 5). Crepes are sans doute one of my favorite elements to French cuisine. And since I’ll be heading off to Normandy, I will surely be eating my fill.
